Chronicles of a girl that found GRACE!

Dear younger me,
How do I begin to tell you how far I have come?
Did you know He was right when He said He knew you from the beginning?
Did you ever think you could tread upon this path?
Did you know the confusions and anxiety about the future
wasn’t worth it after all?

Dear younger me,
How can I explain to you the joy that I feel
when people ask me, what  has been keeping me so far?
Even when I try to tell them that I’ve got my own days
they still tell me I do not have a problem.

Dear younger me,
Did you know every step you took will lead you where you are ?
I guess you finally figured that you can make your plans
but only Him can order your steps.

Dear younger me,
You really need to catch up on a lot that has happened.
I have fulfilled some of my childhood dreams
I have gone through some test and came out successful
Did you know I set some goals and I met them?

Dear younger me,
What if I tell you, I still don’t know my way around
I get lost no matter where I go, like I used to
Can you believe I finally realize there’s beauty in being different
I learnt never to compare myself to anyone
I am putting my childhood talent to use (writing)
remember how I used to wish I could dance, sing, draw e.t.c
But looking at it now, somehow I can do them.

Dear younger me,
What if I told you they still call me “Honey”(Oyinkansola)
the name you hated for no reason and you had to go ask
mum why she would give you such name
I remember her telling you, when you grow older
you would value the name.
Guess what I like it!!!! and people just fall in love with me
at the mention of that name. She was right!!

Dear younger me,
I’m sorry I have to tell you this too
I have made mistakes, I have failed
Some days, confusion was my companion
Sometimes I go in the wrong path, kept bad company
and followed wrong advice
Sometimes I get too selfish and do my own things
forgetting how you would feel
But I have learnt to be grateful no matter what!

Dear younger me,
You do realize I am only human right?
I am allowed to make mistakes at times
All of this mistakes and failures
have me taught great lessons, building me each day

Dear younger me,
I discovered that woman in proverbs 31
is just a woman like me
I stopped getting so jealous of her
‘cos I thought she was just an impossible
kind of woman until I discovered
where her source came from
her fear of God, her boldness and most of all DISCIPLINE
I promise to be like her

Dear younger me,
I have a little secret, Today is my birthday
For the first time in my life, I feel so “OLD”
maybe reality is staring at me and
I am just too scared to look back
But then, I get comforted by your favorite verse each time
“Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.”
Exodus 14:13

Dear younger me,
I really do not bother myself anymore like I used to
I am learning everyday to lay my plans and worries before Him
I found that the secret is to seek Him first
Now that I think of it,
let me admit, I am older!!
I am growing in wisdom
I have grown in stature
and in continuous favor with God and men just like Him
Luke 2:52

Dear younger me,
Can you please stop bothering me about “the one”
He will find me when the time is right
and I promise to let you know
It’s just so hard to come to the terms that I grew
well…that sure comes with a lot of responsibility
For my birthday he promised me
Nations as present, continents as prize Psalm 2:8
And every step of this journey keeps leading me to my promise land

Dear younger me,
He is not done with me yet
I’m still a work in progress
I won’t complain
Even if I’m not where you wish yet
I am grateful I’m not where I used to be
Every day, Every month and Every year gets better
My path keeps shinning more and more
Proverbs 4:18

Dear younger me,
I could go on and on
There’s too much emotion running through my mind right now
One thing I learnt is to rest in His love
His grace is the reason I got this far
I am a proof that His grace is real
I promise to make you proud
                                                                       Love from your older self,

Psalm 139:16 (CSB) Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all [my] days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began.
